“My time with the AP bureau in Nairobi was an eye opening experience of being in the field reporting about crucial issues of democracy and social justice, as well as problems unique to developing countries and the Global South. Being part of a large news organization meant having the resources to do local stories through an international lens, while benefiting from the small team atmosphere, where everyone is involved to make stories come to life. I was treated like family and enjoyed my time learning from the talented local team!”
