Kate Selig joins The Boston Globe

Kate Selig, recipient of the 2023 OPC Foundation Irene Corbally Kuhn Scholar Award, has joined The Boston Globe as a climate science and environment reporter, returning to the newsroom where she first interned in 2022.

She previously served as a fellow at The New York Times in 2024 on the National desk. In 2025, she was awarded the OPC Foundation’s Rukeyser Reporting Grant, which funded her reporting in Brazil on a pioneering climate initiative that uses crushed volcanic rock on farmland to draw carbon from the atmosphere.
