Echo Wang has joined the Reuters deals team as editor-in-charge of M&A coverage. She previously led Reuters’ IPO coverage and hit the ground running in her new role, breaking what could be the largest M&A deal ever: SpaceX’s acquisition of xAI. Her reporting has also revealed OpenAI’s plans to go public and the sale of OnlyFans.

She joined Reuters in 2019 through the Overseas Press Club Foundation fellowship. Originally from a small town outside Shanghai, Echo began her career as a travel writer for Lonely Planet and has reported for NPR’s The Indicator and Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
