Where Are They Now: Hannah Frances Johansson

OPC Foundation Scholar 2025 Hannah Frances Johansson is a reporting apprentice with the Pittsburgh Media Partnership Newsroom, a regional wire service serving southwestern Pennsylvania.

In just the past few months, she has tackled a remarkably diverse range of stories from a Russian military hacker linked to a major cyber espionage case, to sushi and the global seafood supply chain, to a cryptocurrency extortion scheme by Cambodian scammers. She also recently produced a story for NPR xamining the decline in corporate sponsorships for Pride celebrations across the country.
