Miriam Berger and Washington Post Staff wins The Shireen Abu Akleh Award by Overseas Press Club of America

OPC Foundation Scholar Award winner ’16 Miriam Berger is part of the Washington Post staff who received the Shireen Abu Akleh Award for Best reporting on a continuing international conflict or crisis in any medium on April 17 at the Overseas Press Club of America Awards in Cipriani NYC. The Washington Post “Unchecked War” examines the human costs of Israel’s war in Gaza.

Miriam covers Israel, the Palestinian territories and Gaza for the Washington Post. She had an OPC Foundation fellowship in the AP bureau in Jerusalem after winning the OPC Foundation Scholar Award in 2016. She has done freelance reporting in the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia.
