Rafael Montoto completes his Reuters Fellowship in Mexico City

Rafael spent three months as an OPC Foundation Fellow at Reuters' Mexico City bureau, where he covered breaking news and wrote enterprise stories. On the breaking news hub, he covered South American startups, tariffs, and a broad range of news from across Central and South America. He worked collaboratively with reporters across the continent to publish news quickly, accurately, and with rigorous reporting. With the bureau, he pitched and reported stories on a political killing that shook Mexico City, a Mexican designer who combines Chicano and Japanese fashion, and other stories.

Following his time in Mexico with Reuters, Rafael is heading to Little Rock, Arkansas to join The Arkansas Democrat Gazette as a Breaking News and Crime reporter.
